Accessibility

Dyenamic Designs wants this website to be usable by everyone.

Our commitment

We want this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification or speech input. We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. To be straightforward, we consider this site partially conformant: it was checked with an automated accessibility tool and with keyboard tests of the menu, dialogs and forms, but it has not yet had an independent audit.

What is built into this site

  • A skip link. Pressing Tab when a page loads offers a “Skip to content” link.
  • Keyboard navigation. The menu, the quote form and dialogs can be used without a mouse. The menu and dialogs close with the Escape key and return you to where you were.
  • Labeled forms. Every field has a visible label. Mistakes are shown in words next to the field, not by color alone, and results are announced in a status message.
  • Descriptions for images. Meaningful images carry written descriptions, and decorative shapes are hidden from screen readers.
  • Clear structure. Pages use headings, landmarks and lists so a screen reader can move through them in order.
  • Readable contrast and size. Text colors were chosen to meet the AA contrast ratios, and nothing is set in text smaller than 14 pixels.
  • Respect for motion settings. If your device asks for reduced motion, animations and transitions are turned off.
  • Layouts that reflow. Pages fit narrow screens without sideways scrolling.

Display preferences

Every page has an accessibility button that opens a panel of display settings. You can change text size, line height and letter spacing, switch to a higher-contrast or inverted color scheme, remove color, use a more readable typeface, enlarge the cursor, turn on a reading guide, pause animations, and highlight links and headings. There are also one-tap presets for common needs.

Your choices are saved in your own browser and remembered on your next visit. Nothing is sent to a server, no account is needed, and no cookies are set.

These settings are a convenience, not a substitute for building the site properly. The structure, labels, keyboard support and contrast described above are part of the pages themselves, so the site is meant to work with your own screen reader, magnifier or browser settings whether or not you use the panel.

Known limitations

  • Artwork upload. Choosing files works with the keyboard and a screen reader, but dragging files onto the upload area needs a mouse or touch. The “Add artwork” control does the same job without dragging.
  • Screen reader testing. We have not yet tested every page with a range of screen readers and devices.
  • Third-party content. The typefaces and the accessibility panel are loaded from other companies' servers, and their behavior is outside our control.
